Rich Thorpe

Rich comes to us from N.Y. City.

He made his first mark in

S.E. Conn. with a band called

Black Jack where he quickly

took to being part of a 2 man

guitar team. That served him well

as he moved onto another

local act known as

While in school near Boston he was

inspired by a NH bands six string

guitarist using a technique that mimicked

a pedal steel guitar.

He quickly developed his own version,

combined that with the southern rock

sound and joined Boston based

Midnight Traveler

Together they roamed the land from

1978 to 1985

He has opened up for artists ranging from

Tanya Tucker to 38 Special

Most recently performing with

Four On The Floor and Silver City

and filling in with other local acts.

The first instrument he learned to play was
the violin which was ditched after hearing
the Beatle's

He listens to classical music on the radio

He can not read a single note of music

He continues to perform and insists there is
no end in sight. He is not sure if it is the
years or beers keeping him going.

He has fingers like pencils unlike Bill who
uses sausage links

Rich is older than the entire band
(not collectively)

He has always wanted to be
a drummer or a bassist
